Hey there,
We will start the 4th update of our ‘Building in Public‘ series by welcoming two entrepreneurs to the ‘alt leaderboard’ (will make it public soon!)
Abdullah is building Catalyces, a CMMS software.
Romman is building Katalyst, an AI-powered user research tool.
Let’s dive into the updates on our active ventures.
Creato - Making technology accessible for Pakistani creators
After 41 releases we finally have our 1st customer, Saif Ali. Check out his post and Creato page.
We had 10+ transactions on Saif’s profile within 12 hours of launch. We will start sharing revenue numbers when we have enough creators to anonymize the data.
Palwasha, the second creator, will go live this week (Special thanks to Hariss for connecting us)
You can check a video demo of the updates below:
Find - Find the right people faster with AI-powered matching
We had multiple demos with recruiters over the last few weeks and rolled out the product internally to hire a Product Designer for Sprints.
We identified the following improvements that we’re working on now:
Give recruiter visibility into the calculation of the AI score. A black box for scoring candidates isn’t acceptable to any recruiter.
Complete the cycle within the same platform. Shortlisting to case studies to interviews to offer.
Collaboration (commenting) features and access controls are critical for bigger organizations.
The next goal is to hit internal PMF (adopt it at Alt) within this week and demo the updated product to the same recruiters again.
Sprints - ‘No code & AI’ as a service
Revenue (q2 2023): $21K (vs 28K for the last update)
Revenue (q3 2023): $35K (vs 39K for the last update)
Revenue (q4 2023): $31K (overflowing from this quarter)
Our primary focus is going deep and building long-term relationships with a limited number of organizations. A couple of examples:
We spent a lot of time with a 100M+ consultancy portfolio executed by teams spread across 5 regions. We are in the design phase of building a single platform to run all ops.
We are working with a Philippines-based recruitment business to digitize its end-to-end operations.
AI Experiments
To make it more concise I will only share highlights here:
AI Agents: Narrow down the focus to specific use cases like onboarding. We went too wide BigQuery, Sheets, PDFs, Notion, etc. Special thanks to Matteo for demoing it. (Learn more about AI agents by reading this report by Abubakar)
Voice Cloning & Lip Syncing: We were able to generate decent results for research purposes, now exploring commercial use cases. Check out Imran Khan singing here.
To review all experiments, check out this notion doc.
How can you help?
We will be grateful if you can do one of these things:
Connect us with anyone who will resonate with our vision of building a YC alternative accessible for Pakistani builders.
We have started exploring partners and investors for our internal ventures. If you or someone in your network is interested, drop me a message.
You will hear from me again in a couple of weeks.
Best,
Muhammad.
